Week 4 – I Am – Grace in the Word

I Am – Week 4

This week, we continue the study of John 10 by looking at the second part of Jesus’ I AM statement. Last week, we looked at verses 1-10, where Jesus said, “I AM the Gate.” This week, Jesus continues in verses 11-18, declaring, “I AM the Good Shepherd.” Jesus is our protector and our righteous guide in this life. He directs our feet towards goodness and righteousness. He directs us away from the enemy and towards His goodness.

Reflect this week on what it would look like for your life to be shepherded by the Lord.

I Am – Week 3

I Am – Week 3

This week, we look to John 10:1- 10, in which Jesus gives the first part of a two-part I AM statement. In John 10:1-10, Jesus declares, “I AM the Gate.” What He means by this is that He is our protection. In this world and life, temptations, enemies, and deceivers fight to distract us from Christ, but Christ offers us His protection. He calls us to draw near to Him and follow Him, and when we do, we receive His glorious protection.

Week 2 – I Am

I Am – Week 2

This week in our Grace in the Word study, we look at John 8:12-30. This week, Jesus’ I AM statement is “I AM the Light of the World.” As you study Jesus’ words this week, reflect upon the truth that Jesus shows us the direction toward a real and fruitful life. His light also directs us towards our ultimate home of salvation in Him!

Today kicks off our Grace in the Word Reading Plan for Lent. We are so excited to walk the next 7 weeks through the “I AM” statements of Jesus as a church family. We pray as we move toward Easter that this study will be meaningful to you personally as you embrace Jesus as the Great “I AM” Pick up your copy of the reading plan at the Info Table, follow along online here or on the app.
